I first saw this lovely idea on Gardeners’ World years ago, back in the days when Geoff Hamilton presented the programme.
I’ve seen them in several gardens since, and wanted to make some of some of my own – so I collect old and interesting bricks and plant them up with houseleeks and stonecrops. After a year or so they look made for them.
I have an ever-increasing row of them along the wall in my front garden that I will photograph next year to show you when they are at their best.
