Yesterday we visited West Dean gardens near Chichester, one of my favourite gardens and always a source of inspiration. I was captivated by this amazing display in one of their greenhouses – a colourful mixture of tender perennials including Begonia, Calibrachoa and Coleus. On the way home I spotted a pack of six coleus plants outside Aldi for just £1.69. They needed a good watering and some TLC. Resistance was futile.
After soaking them overnight. I potted them up today on in some old terracotta pots. I have put them on my old steps to photograph for my library, and I will enjoy looking at them there for the next few weeks. Not a patch on West Dean, just a small tribute.
