One of my big fears in gardening is accidentally poking my eye with bamboo cane or a sharp clipped branch, so I have the national collection of cane tops in my shed drawers ready to use on any dangerous looking projection.
My favourite bought ones are these simple but effective plastic ones, sold in packets in various colours at Trago Mills – I stock up on them whenever I’m visiting the southwest.
For photography though, something more decorative is needed.
What great ideas, will now keep empty snail shells glad that they have a use!

Forgot to say, I find that acrylic paint is best for the job, or small tins of model maker’s enamel.
